The essence of Success is living your Vision.

It is also the essence of being a spiritreneur. In order to succeed as a spiritreneur the only way to do it is this: throw your heart over the bar, and your body will follow. After you’ve completed your fist jump, pick your heart up, dust if off, walk around a bit to get the lay of the land, and then throw your heart over the next bar, knowing that it will be brighter than the last.

Jesus did not live each day according to a written plan. But his vision did shape each day’s activities — what he would do, what he would not do. Only in retrospect could it resemble a formalized plan.

“For where there is no vision, the people perish.”
Proverbs 29:18
Jesus knew a plan would not save him ….
I am all for business plans. I collect them. I also collect briefcases and organizers. But I have no illusion that plans make for success. It is only people, passionately following their visions, that make things successful.

Perhaps we are killing too many trees and not spending enough time on our knees. Perhaps we should stop saying thank you and please and instead go follow the birds and the bees . . . who dance and soar, never the same way twice, yet always find their way home.

Jesus knew that vision matters.

Questions:

Are you counting on a business plan to be a substitute for your vision?

How many pages would it take to describe your vision?

How clear is it?

How real is it?

What would you give to accomplish it?

What is the difference between a business plan and a vision?

Remember, as a spiritreneur, to dance more, laugh more, and to let your vision guide you. The details will work out.
